What A Day !

Yesterday, the team was on our way back to our office when we saw a crowd of people gathering around a child lying motionless on the side of the road. The 12 year old was riding a bicycle when he was hit by a reckless motorcyclist, flinging the child off his bicycle and onto the pavement just about 20meters from our office.

We quickly pulled our vehicle to the side of the road to render assistance and saw a distraught father struggling to hold up his unconscious son. Quickly checking his vitals, we turned around our vehicle and rushed both the father and child to the hospital. The mother collapsed when she was told about the accident.

In the back of the truck, the child’s father kept calling out to his child’s name hoping that he would respond. The child had been unconscious for almost 30mins and there was blood in his mouth.

Rushing to the A&E, the child regain consciousness briefly and tearing in great pain. In a matter of minutes, he was unconsciousness again. The father was panic stricken as he held on to the child hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.

5mins away from the hospital, the first good sign when the child started to regain consciousness and the father’s face lit up. Arriving at the hospital, we handed the child over to the medical team in the A&E.

The family was filled with gratitude and thanked RADION for going the extra mile to help out.  To us,  its a reminder that every life matters and helping out is a small gesture of goodwill – but sure meant the world to this family.
