Singapore. 18 Nov 2013 – At least 600,000 people are said to have been displaced by the powerful storm and survivors are growing increasingly angry and desperate at the slow rate relief is trickling in due to the lack of fuel for transport vehicles, looting and damaged roads.

Some survivors were reportedly injured or killed in their desperate search for food, looting and hijacking of relief vehicles were also reported. As stories of heightened violence and tension spread, relief workers have been advised not to move around and even prompted some aid organisations to pull out due to security reasons.

RADION International Disaster Response Team has arrived on the ground in Panay Island. The team will begin assessing the immediate needs  and working closely with local government and partner organisations to respond accordingly with food, water and medicine.

RADION International is continuing its appeal for financial support to provide disaster stricken families with a relief kit to sustain a family for 1 week. Each pack costs $100.
