"Mental Health First Contact (Childhood Trauma & PTSD)"

Radion International Foundation Holds "Mental Health First Contact (Childhood Trauma & PTSD)" Training

Radion International Foundation recently organised a training session on “Mental Health First Contact (Childhood Trauma & PTSD)” for teachers, pastors, and caregivers. The aim was to deepen their understanding of the psychological impact children face following traumatic events like natural disasters or various crises.

During this session, participants learned about:

  • Introduction to Childhood Trauma and PTSD: Fundamental knowledge about these conditions.

  • Observing Emotional & Behavioural Changes in Children: Techniques for recognising shifts in children's feelings and actions.

  • Communication Techniques for Emotional Expression: Strategies to encourage children to articulate their feelings.

  • Basic Approaches to Developing "Coping Skills for Stress" in Children: Initial guidance on building resilience.

The training was honoured to feature Mr. Prasongsak Jenkijapaiboon, a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist from Suan Prung Hospital, Department of Mental Health, as the speaker. He shared invaluable knowledge and experience.

We extend our sincere thanks to all participants for prioritising "caring for children's emotional wounds," a delicate and crucial matter, especially in the aftermath of disasters or severe incidents. Children desperately need adults who are "ready to listen, understand, and stand by them."

Because healing...
begins with gentle recognition and understanding, to create a "safe space" where children can recover, grow, and move forward with strength.
